Sugar & Spice Frosting
Autumn has officially begun and the Sweet Dreams Cakez kitchen smells like sugar and spice and everything nice. The weather is beginning to change. The transition from the treacherous heat of summer into the breezy cool of autumn makes a great time to fire up the oven and bake the day away.
It is the perfect time to add a little spice to your favorite sugar cookie recipe. When combining the dry ingredients add a pinch of cinnamon to taste. Arm the kids with the autumn cookie cutters and let them go. Bake according to the recipe and top off the cookies with the delicious pumpkin spice frosting recipe below. I guarantee you will be greeted kindly when you enter the office with these babies.
• 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
• 1/2 cup butter, softened
• 4 cups confectioners’ sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon Directions
In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and butter until fluffy. Add the confectioners’ sugar, vanilla and cinnamon, beat until smooth. Don’t forget to refrigerate the leftovers. It’s a wonderful feeling to take the old, add some new and come up with something so exceptional. This time of year, pumpkin takes everything to another level, especially a go to recipe like cream cheese frosting. The cinnamon makes ordinary cream cheese frosting extraordinary.
